We prepared sandwiches, bought some chips, sodas (also beers) and drove to Yosemite. It took us about 4 hours drive from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park, and the landscape was amazing.
Yosemite is located in Northen California and is one of the most popular parks in the US. It is a great place for hiking, camping and family vacation.
We started walking in the park. You need to be fit in order to walk throughout the park. Yosemite is huge and you can easily walk for hours. I remember it was difficult for me to breathe on the climbs and there was a point where I couldn’t keep moving anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I love walking and I believe walking is the best way to get fit. However, sometimes I feel exhausted.
In Yosemite, there is a free bus that takes you to all the major sites. As I mentioned before, it would be impossible to walk the whole park. The bus drivers are very funny and they tell stories of Yosemite while they’re driving. One of the guides told us that once, he opened the door of the bus and a large bear got in. People inside the bus ran out to the front door and jumped out of the windows. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
Mirror Lake
As you can imagine, after a long walk, we were starving. But, we were afraid of taking our food out because the guide told us that in the park there were wild animals, including bears that smell the food and can attack you. So we decided to keep walking and take more pictures.
